I attended the forum presented by opponents of the Wild Olympics Campaign on March 21st at Aberdeen High School.
I was disappointed that the supporters were not given a chance to explain what their proposal would do. The supporters were only given five minutes to speak during a two hour meeting and were unable to provide some necessary truths.
After the meeting I had a chance to talk to someone on the supporting side who informed me that preserving public access is a major goal in their proposed plan. Therefore, opponents of the Wild Olympic Campaign are incorrect in saying that access to public areas of the peninsula will be cut off.
The Wild Olympics Campaign (www.wildolympics.org) will be holding a public workshop on Tuesday April 12, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Grays Harbor College HUB for an open and honest community dialogue.
Sincerely,
Joy Stapleton
Aberdeen
